WSPSS 2011 Fall Meeting

The Fall 2011 WSPSS Business Meeting and Tour is scheduled for Friday October 21, 2011.  The meeting will be held at the Wild Rose Fish Hatchery in between Waupaca and Wautoma. The naturalist at the Fish Hatchery will give a presentation on the old and new hatchery including brown trout. Steve Warrner the new DNR land Application Coordinator has agreed to provide an update on the statua of their land application program and the use of the Web Soil Survey in approving sites. He is looking for input from WSPSS and NRCS on better ways to use the Web Soil Survey and corelate the use with the DNR program.

 9:00 –  Social time (coffee, juice, sweet rolls)

9:30  – Business Meeting

10:30 – DNR Presentation by Steve Warrner

11:30  – Other discussion or Topics

12:00 – Lunch at the facility
(Hopefully on picnic tables overlooking hatchery if weather permits)

1:00 – Presentation by Joan Voigt

1:30 – Tour of Fish Hatchery

2:30 – Complete guided tour

2:45 – Final Comments or discusssion

President, Ken Denow is also looking for other topics that members feel are important to share with other soil scientists.

A Dirt Dauber will not be released until after the meeting.  Please spread the word about this meeting to your friends to make sure they have heard about it.
